These specimens are famous for their pseudo-hexagonal twinning. The formation occurs as numerous individual crystals grow outward from a single point of origin. As they expand, they "twin" or interlock, creating the appearance of a six-sided prism. This growth happens in oxidizing environments, typically in the secondary zones of lead and copper deposits or within sedimentary cavities. The warm, reddish-brown color in these Moroccan clusters is the result of iron oxide inclusions that were present during the eons-long crystallization process.
