Labradorite Owl

$17.99
Personal Power • Protection • Intuition

Our Labradorite Owl brings together the mysterious flash of Labradorite and the ancient symbolism of the owl in a carving that changes as you turn it. Each polished owl is carved from natural Madagascan Labradorite and shows its own blend of dove gray and blue-gray tones, with its own degree of labradorescence, the flash of blue, green, and gold that appears when light hits the stone at the right angle, ensuring no two pieces look exactly alike. Labradorite is traditionally associated with intuition, transformation, protection, and spiritual awareness, while the owl evokes wisdom, foresight, and the ability to see clearly in the dark. Perfect for owl lovers and crystal collectors alike, this Labradorite owl carving makes a meaningful gift, meditation companion, altar piece, or striking addition to your desk or home décor while serving as a reminder to trust what you already sense.

PRODUCT DETAILS: This listing is for a single (1) Labradorite Owl. Please note that these are stock photos of a few of the pieces that we have available. These are natural Crystals & Gemstones, so each stone will be unique and have variations in natural characteristics such as Size, Shape, Inclusions, and Color. Labradorite carvings show considerable variation in flash. Some pieces catch strong blue or green labradorescence at certain angles, while others read predominantly gray with softer or more limited flash. All are genuine Madagascan Labradorite, and the flash on every piece is best seen by tilting it slowly under direct light rather than viewing it straight on.

Geology & Composition: Labradorite is a member of the feldspar family, specifically a plagioclase feldspar made of calcium, sodium, aluminum, and silicon. It forms deep within the earth as magma cools slowly into igneous rocks such as gabbro, basalt, and anorthosite. As it cools, the stone separates into extremely thin, alternating layers of slightly different composition, each far thinner than a human hair. When light enters the stone, it bounces between these microscopic layers and reflects back as brilliant flashes of color. This optical effect is so distinctive that it has its own name, labradorescence. Depending on the angle, a piece can shift from a soft gray or smoky green to a vivid flash of blue, green, gold, copper, or even purple. The stone takes its name from Labrador, Canada, where it was first documented by Europeans in the late 1700s.

Our Labradorite comes from Madagascar, which has become one of the world's most important sources of this stone. Madagascar's ancient geology includes large bodies of anorthosite and gabbro, rocks rich in plagioclase feldspar, which create ideal conditions for Labradorite to form in abundance. Madagascan Labradorite is especially admired for its strong, vibrant flash, with many pieces showing broad sweeps of electric blue and green, and some displaying a fuller spectrum of gold, orange, and violet. Each piece is natural and one of a kind, with its own pattern and intensity of flash. To see the full effect, tilt it slowly under a light, since the colors appear and disappear as the angle changes. Labradorite has a hardness of 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale. Because of its layered structure, it can chip or split along those planes if dropped, so we recommend handling it with care.

  • Elements: Air

Labradorite Meaning and Properties: Labradorite is a purifying stone that connects you with the energy of light, and its defining quality is that it works on two things at once: it strengthens what is yours and shields it from what is not. Personal Power is where that begins. Labradorite strengthens your natural energies rather than adding something foreign to them, clearing away accumulated baggage so you can recognize your inner self and your true life purpose underneath it. It calms an overactive mind while bringing energy to the imagination, which is an unusual combination and part of why it suits people doing creative or intuitive work.

Its gift for Intuition comes through the Third Eye, the center of inner sight. Labradorite brings you closer to your own intuition and spirituality and magnifies whatever intention you set with it. It also activates the Throat, which is what turns insight into expression, supporting the confidence to actually say what you have come to understand. Carried on the Element of Air, its energy is clarifying and mobile rather than heavy, lifting fog instead of grounding you in place. Protection is the other half. Labradorite is a powerful protective stone that holds a clear boundary around your own energy, shielding you while you do the deeper work, which is why it is so often reached for during periods of transition. It clears and opens all of the Chakras, creating balance within yourself and centering your energy.

Owl Sculpture Meaning: The owl has meant the same thing for nearly three thousand years. In ancient Greece it belonged to Athena, goddess of wisdom and strategy, and appeared on Athenian coins as the symbol of the city itself. Across cultures since, the owl has stood for knowledge, foresight, and the capacity to see what others cannot, largely because of what the bird actually does: it hunts in the dark, silently, noticing what the rest of the world has missed. Labradorite may be the most fitting stone of all for the owl, because both are about what is hidden until you look at it correctly. Labradorite appears as an unremarkable gray stone until the light strikes it at the right angle and the whole surface ignites. The owl sees in conditions where other animals see nothing at all. Neither is giving you new information so much as revealing what was already there. That is also what Labradorite does with intuition. It sharpens the Third Eye and brings you closer to things you already sense but have not yet put into words. Set this owl where it catches changing light, on a desk, a windowsill, a bookshelf, or an altar, and it will show you something different depending on when you glance at it, which is a fair description of how intuition tends to work.

The Third Eye Chakra allows you to see yourself and others clearly. It connects you with your inner purpose and feelings, and opens you to inspiration and spiritual enlightenment.
