A gemstone cabochon (or Cab for short) is a gemstone that has been shaped and polished to be a dome shape on the top and is usually flat on the bottom. Gemstones that are opaque are usually made into cabochons whereas more transparent gemstones are mainly faceted. Cabochons make beautiful focal points for jewelry. They're typically used to make pendants and rings. These stones don't usually have holes, though. They can also be added to clothing or bags, or really anything your heart desires!
