  • To check if our elastic bracelets will fit you, please measure your wrist with either (1) a string and a ruler OR (2) a measuring tape. Make sure that the string or measuring tape is not too loose or too tight on your wrist. Be sure to measure the area of your wrist where you wish the bracelet to lay. If the measurement is between 6" to 7.5", the elastic bracelet will fit well!

Geology & Composition: Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz, chemically simple silicon dioxide with a twist that took mineralogists a long time to explain. Trace amounts of iron built into the crystal structure, combined with millions of years of natural radiation from the surrounding rock, transform what would otherwise be colorless quartz into shades from pale lilac to deep royal purple. Our Amethyst comes from Brazil, the world's most important source, where the ancient volcanic basalt flows of Rio Grande do Sul hold enormous gas cavities that filled slowly with silica-rich fluids. Those cavities became geodes, some of them large enough for a person to stand inside, lined with crystal points. Brazilian material is prized for its clarity and its even, saturated color, which is what makes A Grade beads like these possible. The subtle light and dark zoning you may notice within a bead is called color zoning, and it records the varying conditions as the crystal grew, layer by layer, over an immense span of time. Amethyst measures 7 on the Mohs scale, hard enough for comfortable everyday wear, and it takes the bright glassy polish you see here.

PLEASE NOTE: To prolong the life of your bracelet, we recommend that you do not swim, shower, or bathe with your bracelet on. Exposure to water can weaken the band and knots. We also recommend taking your bracelet off before going to sleep and not stretching or playing with your bracelet to limit the chances of it getting caught on something and snapping the band.
